Global Trainees Program
The Firm is launching its first-ever Global Trainees Program (GTP). The ideal candidate should have completed, with academic distinction, both a law degree in his or her home country and an LL.M. program in a U.S. law school, and is interested in full-time employment in our office in China or New York following the completion of the GTP. Please note, qualifying candidate must be fluent in Chinese and has work authorization in either U.S. or China.
The GTP is designed for 24 months in duration, of which the selected Trainees are expected to spend 12 months in Beijing office and 12 months in New York. During the training period in New York, Trainees will receive legal training in the U.S. business immigration law, and business & corporation laws. Trainees will attend a variety of Firm’s internal seminars and professional conference, which introduces the relevant practice and the latest regulatory trends, as well as engage in rotation between departments and learn the knowledge necessary to select, develop and maintain clientele, to attend legal consultation, and to assist cases in the field of business immigration. Trainees will also learn how to effectively obtain and update information with governmental authorities, such as the Department of States, IRS, etc., and gain the skills to ensure oversea business and investments in compliance with U.S. business & corporations laws.
During the training period in Beijing, Trainee will receive legal training, Trainees are expected to rotate in different departments to gain the firsthand experience necessary to practice in China. In Merger & Acquisition department, Trainees will receive training in deal structure design and optimization, legal due diligence and drafting of transaction documents. In Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) department, Trainees will learn the rope on how to establish foreign-invested enterprises, including investment planning and structure design and assist in conduct national security review.

Assess eligibility of corporate employees for nonimmigrant and immigrant visa status in the U.S.; Work with employers to prepare petitions and applications for submission to USCIS and DOL; Draft and review real estate transaction related legal documents, such as attorney letters, deeds, mortgage requests, residential and commercial contracts and leases; represent client in the closing of residential home, and commercial purchases; analyze the probable outcomes of cases; interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses; research factual and legal issues; confer with colleagues to establish and verify bases for legal proceedings.
